I currently work as a part-time manager for a large national retail establishment. With a shortage of managers, I've been required to work between 40 and 50 hours per week and also to complete tasks not given as part of my initial job description as set by the company. My request to become "full-time" and to receive benefits like the other full-time managers has been denied. I'm mostly interested in accruing PTO and sicks days and possibly getting a benefits package like the other managers who work the same number of hours as I do. Am I entitled to this?

Also, with the shortage of managers I've been required to work 8-12 hours without taking an official break for a meal. I know this is for sure illegal. Is it worth it to pursue a case to get compensation?
Thanks!
