Does income from parent hurt my Social Security Disability eligibility

Good morning. After working for over 15 years at the same company I'm no longer able to do it and wish to apply for SSDI. My mother has some money and set up a trust to help our me and my sister who also has severe medical issues. So now we are wondering if we can apply for SSDI and get approved even though we will be getting almost a thousand dollars a month each from the trust. I saw the other post about inheritance money not effecting someone's ability to get disability benefits but I wondered if this is different because it's from a living person (or her trust). Thanks for any information you have.

Income and SSDI claim

As you read in the other post, Social Security Administration does not consider income when reviewing applications for SSDI.  It does not matter where the money comes from.  The more important considerations are your disabled status (ability to work) and your work history.  If you were applying for SSI, a needs-based program, then the answer would be different.  Good luck with your application.
