I think I can handle by SSDI claim without an attorney. Am I being unrealistic?  (Posted on The Forum by Dhali6.)

Maybe. I think most people can handle an initial application without the aid of an attorney. However, if it were me, I would use an attorney to make sure I lay the proper ground work for any appeal of a denial.

 

Certainly for a hearing before an administrative law judge, appeals council, or a court of appeal, I would retain an attorney.
