Over the last several months as my situation got worse I've been using my credit cards to get me through this mess. Not a good idea and it didn't work. So if I file Chapter 7 Bankruptcy soon will all of my debt be discharged or did I mess up by using the cards so much?

Not necessarily. The issuers of your credit cards will likely argue that the increased use of your cards in the months prior to your filing for Bankruptcy constitutes an abuse, because you knew you would file bankruptcy and had no intention of paying off the debt. I believe the relevant Federal Code is 11 U.S.C. Section 523. When/if you contact an attorney about filing bankruptcy, you should talk to her about this issue and explain the circumstances under which you acquired the credit card debt. She will then be better prepared to obtain the largest discharge possible. Good luck.
