Hi,

Is it easy to find a lawyer on contingency fees basis for getting couple of thousand dollars from a company? I’m in Massachusetts area and I’m trying to sue a company that is out of state but the case won’t involve getting more that three thousand dollar. This case might be tough to fight in local small courts since the company is out of state.

Thanks

Contingency fee in employment law claim

You do not provide a lot of detail in your question but, assuming this is a matter that a Massachusetts court would have jurisdiction over, it is possible you could find an attorney who would take the matter on contingency.  Depending on the type of claim, the potential damages could be more than you realize.  For example, under Massachusetts law, employers can be liable for triple damages and/or attorney's fees for failing to pay earned wages.  Hope that helps.
