My divorce was final in Mass and my ex has moved to Texas. He has not paid any of the outstanding monies that were part of the divorce agreement, we also went back a 2nd time last April and he was court ordered to pay $30/week and has not done this. He also does not pay for any of the uninsured medicals that he is court ordered and college expenses also. The only reason his child support is caught up is because they have hunted him down and have taken the money. He moves around all the time so I have no physical address for his only a work address. Can I take him back to court in Mass and what if he does not show up as he will have to travel here from Texas. I do not understand that if something is court ordered why it is so simple for him to get out of his financial obligations and responsiblities and I have to scrape by.

Child support and contempt
That is a difficult situation. As you may know from reading other posts on this Forum, in theory, you should be able to get an order from the divorce court holding your husband in contempt for his failure to pay child support. From there the court can actually issue an arrest warrant. However, as you know, that process becomes a lot more complicated when the ex spouse moves to another state and willfully evades his obligations. Perhaps an attorney with more experience in this area can offer you some advice.
