We live in an area that has been affected by hurricanes, and as a result, the property lines are often a challenge for engineers. We had our land surveyed and rebuilt our home 10 years ago. No one objected to our plans or property marker location. Our abutting neighbor had his land surveyed last year to rebuild a home and the property markers differ by over 1 foot...meaning our fence is now on his property and his house is extremely close to our home. How do we reconcile this? Our engineer is now retired, but if he is wrong, what is our next step and what are our rights? If the neighbor's engineer is wrong, what do we do?
