We have common heat in a 3 unit condo association and everyone pays according to their percentage of ownership. I rent my unit out, and most often tenants want to keep thermostatic control (I have 2 in my unit) but I usually keep it locked and set per the law. Most tenants say they are happy to pay the fuel costs if they have control of the heat, but I am reluctant to do this since it is not separately metered SO I am wondering, since the heat is part of the condo fee, can I rent to tenants and allow them to pay the condo fee (Including heat) or is that a bad idea?
