Do you think it's illegal or an "unfair and deceptive" act for car dealers to do radio ads where they say "all credit applications will be accepted"? It seems deceptive to me because it makes you think they'll give you credit if you just come down to the showroom. I guess I fell for it and wasted an afternoon talking to a slimy dealer. Any thoughts?

Editor's Response
Yes, I think it is intended to deceive, but no I don't think it is illegal. No offense intended, but of course they will accept all credit applications. Then they (or, more precisely, the entity that provides the credit) will review the application and decide whether to extend credit. I believe attorney generals in other states have taken action against dealers who use similar practices, but as far as I know the practice continues in Massachusetts. Sorry you wasted your time.
