Can someone please help me?

I don't even know if this is the correct forum for this topic.
I'll try to be brief.
I left a 22 year relationship in March 2009
I moved from North Carolina back to my home/family on Cape Cod.
During this relationship we purchased a home together in Hyannis in 1998
We sold the home in 2003 for a tidy profit and moved to North Carolina to care for my partner's ailing mother. She later died.
We purchased a home in Wilmington, I allowed the home to be put in my partner's name ONLY due to some credit issues I had, but I contributed to the purchase/furnishing of the home with money from the sale of our previous home.
The home in North Carolina was sold on June 1st 2009 and my ex-partner relocated to Cape Cod.
We had previously agreed that he would give me 50% of the proceeds from the sale, which I am rightfully entitled to. [It comes to approximately $20,000.00]
He also agreed to give me 50% of the money from the sale of our furnishings [my half is approximately $1,500.00]
He is also supposed to turn over to me money that is paid to me but direct deposited into his checking account, the last deposit was on June 5th 2009 [$503.00]
[That totals to more than $22,000.00]

When he arrived on Cape Cod on June 3rd 2009 he came to my apartment and delivered a small table that belonged to me, a trash bag filled with food items and a carton of cigarettes. When I asked him about the money he became verbally abusive and threatened me. He suggested I hire a lawyer if I wanted to TRY to get any money from him.
The following day I went to court and got a restraining order against him, which was served on June 5th 2009. Now the ex-partner refuses to give me any of my money BECAUSE of the restraining order.

We are both due back in court on June 17th 2009.
How do I get my money?
How do I find a lawyer to represent me when I have no money?

Sorry, but there are just way too many facts and variables in your questions for me to offer any meaningful help.  A good place for you to start looking for help is the Mass Legal Network http://www.masslegalhelp.org/

In the left column of that page, there is a link to help you find out if you are eligible for legal aid and to locate legal aid services.  Good luck.
