Can a non-citizen resident alien get pepper spray or mace?

MA Criminal Law (Traffic Violations/Defense) Questions and Answers

I know that in order to buy pepper spray or mace in MA, one needs to apply for a Firearm ID. I was wondering if it would be possible for a non-citizen to obtain such a license; me and my wife are in the US legally, on a J-visa. I could not find any information online and would appreciate any information about the issue. Thanks in advance,

Check with your local police department. My understanding is that resident aliens may obtain a firearms identification card.
