Can the Landlord keep my deposit if I gave notice and moved a few days after the 1st?

I am moving before the end of my lease because the basement flooded during a power outage. I gave the landlord the last month's rent and notified him I would be moving. The agent was not able to get in touch with the landlord until after the 1st to verify my information. I moved out the weekend after the 1st. Can the landlord keep my security deposit as rent for the entire month?
