I have been on probation for about 9 months now and I have been placed in it for two years. I got in a fight at a party and got charged with assault & battery. I plan on moving to Florida to purchase a home. I asked my probation officer for a copy of my rules & regulations for probation and there is nothing that states I CANNOT transfer my probation to another state. I feel my P.O is just too lazy to fill out the proper paper work for me, does any one have ANY information on transferring my probation to a different state? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Moving probation to another state
Yes, It is possible to move probation to another state. If you are being supervised you can have your PO bring the case before a judge and amend the conditions of probation to allow for unsupervised probation and for permission to move to FL. If you are moving because of a job or because you will be getting a better job in FL be sure to mention that. You may bring the case forward yourself, but the judge is unlikely to allow any changes unless your PO is in agreement. Another option, if you have paid all of the fines and fees and otherwise been in compliance with the terms of probation, is to ask your PO to ask the Judge to have your probation terminated early.
