Can I get my cosmetology license if convicted of a felony and still on probation

Over 6 years ago I was convicted of 4 felonies. I was released and put on probation for 5 years. Recently that probation was extended because of my restitution. I am finding it difficult to obtain gainful employment so decided to try a different route. I have nearly completed the required 1000hours of education and will be applying to take my state board licensing soon. I can not get a straight answer from anyone about whether being on probation is going to be a problem. I have spent a lot of time and money on school and would like to know if it was for nothing. Before starting school I did find out that I can become licensed in spite of the felonies, it did not occure to me that I needed to ask about the probation as well.
