Hello all,
I have a felony conviction (one count of open and gross lewdness) dating back to two years ago. I have noticed that when my name is entered in a search engine the results show details of my sentence from my local newspaper's archive. I am concerned that this might negatively impact my ability to find employment in my chosen field of work once I graduate college, and that it will negatively impact my chances of forming new relationships -so many people google acquaintance's names nowadays. I'm wondering if the fact that I am a felon will make it impossible for me to legally change my name through the courts.
I understand that I broke the law and that I have to live with the consequences. I just fear that the easy accessibility to my personal information that is afforded by the internet will make it extremely difficult for me to live a healthy social and professional life.
Is anyone here familiar with this type of situation? Any suggestions?
