I work as a delivery person for a florist and my boss says that if I somehow damage an arrangement while delivering it then I should bring it back and then the cost of fixing or replacing it comes out of my paycheck. Can he do that or is it illegal in MA? Thank you.

The general rule is that Massachusetts employers cannot make deductions from paychecks (other than those specifically allowed by law for such things as taxes, etc.) without the written permission of the employee. Also, even if such permission is in place, the deduction cannot be made if it would result in the employee making less than the minimum wage. So I would guess that your employer should not take money out of your check for the damages you describe. However, the employer can fire you for any non-discriminatory reason (such as destroying too many floral arrangements).
