Hi,

I was wondering if there was any information regarding minimum amperage for Massachusetts / Boston?

The law is vague and calls for 'sufficient' amperage.

My apartment is limited to 15A - all sockets (studio). Gas stove in kitchen.

15A is barely sufficient to run one appliance, but the problem is worse in the summer (when you need to run an AC, even if a small one).

Could the landlord be liable for upgrading the electrical system?

(Building uses fuses)

Amperage and electrical requirements in apartment

I do not believe there are any regulations requiring greater than 15 amperage in all cases.  However, there are likely code requirements for the number of outlets per circuit.  For example, if you have more than x number or outlets on any circuit, that circuit should be twenty amps.  Call your local inspectional services office if you believe you have electrical problems in your apartment.  If you do, you can force the landlord to make repairs.  Good luck.
