Is there such a thing as auxiliary benefits for the children of people receiving Supplemental Security Income? Thanks.

Auxiliary Social Security benefits

Sorry, but not with SSI.  In some cases, Social Security will provide benefits for the minor children (under age 18) of those receiving SSDI, aka Social Security Disability Insurance benefits. Children may also collect auxiliary benefits if they are disabled and under the age of 22, or high school students under the age of 19.  A spouse may receive auxiliary benefits if he is 62 years or older OR caring for children who are under the age of 16 or disabled.  Hope that helps.  Visit this link for more information on the distinction between SSDI and SSI
