I have a contract with a Home Security system service provider based in CT.
*The company does not have offices in MA.
*The contract does not specify which states laws apply to the contract.
*The contract has a automatic renewal clause "This agreement shall automatically renew for a period of 12 months ate the end of such primary term or renewal term thereafter unless the client shall give written notice to the Company sixty (60) days before the end of the primary term. Upon renewal, service will be billed at the then current monitoring fees."
Which states laws govern the contract? CT requires consumers be sent a letter 15-60 days before the expiration of the renewal period to remind them MA does not.

Automatic renewal clause in contract
Generally speaking, automatic renewal clauses are enforceable in Massachusetts. With that in mind, I don't think a Massachusetts court would take issue with the renewal clause you cite in your question. What you are really asking is whether you could convince a Massachusetts court to apply a Connecticut law designed to protect Connecticut residents from automatically renewing contracts to your situation. I don't think that is going to happen.
