Am I Entitled to Paid Breaks under Massachusetts law?

Sorry, Tbone, but neither federal nor Massachusetts law requires breaks, paid or otherwise, for adults. Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 100 states that “no person shall be required to work more than six hours during a calendar day without an interval of at least thirty minutes for a meal.” However, even for meals, the law does not require that the employee be paid during the break. Generally, paid breaks are offered either as a perk or because they are required by a union contract.
