My aunt was just diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease and now I'm wondering about getting her some form of Social Security Disability money. She is only 51 and has worked hard all her life. I'm wondering if because she has this diagnosis clearly made by a doctor that she might be able to short cut some of the SSDI or SSO application process. Thanks in advance for you help.

Compassionate Allowance Program

I'm very sorry to hear about your aunt.  If you follow this link, you will find some information about the Social Security Administration's Compassionate Allowance Program.   This program allows the SSA to rapidly identify diseases and other medical conditions that almost always qualify for benefits.  If a condition is on the list produced by the SSA, then the application is handled much more quickly.  Early onset Alzheimer's is one of the conditions on the list.  Good luck.
